How Much Do NHL Players Get Paid For Winning The Stanley Cup?
To achieve the title of the Lord Stanley Cup consists of many things, one being blood.. sweat..and tears, and maybe even more blood! But in reality it is pure commitment, throughout 4 series battles out of 7 games long- teams and players put their body on the line.
Some who played last seasons playoffs injuries, like Chris Tanev on Calgary who toughed it out for the Flames final playoff game with a BROKEN RIB & more requiring multiple surgeries. But what are they playing for? Is it the fact of getting their name on the Stanley Cup, the money, the popularity? Well it seems as if we can eliminate one factor out of those three, and that is the money part to things.
You would figure the NHL would give a huge bonus to the cup winning team as they toss out money left and right, but Stanley Cup Champions only get $5,781,250 split between their entire roster which consists of twenty-three players.
Which on average is $251,000 per players as a bonus, it may seem like a lot - but compared to the average salary of $3,000,000 it is quite the drastic change.
