BREAKING: NHL Player Safety Committee Hands Out Punishment to Matthew Tkachuk For Eye Poking
Tkachuk seems to be one of those players 31 NHL franchises and fan bases dislike, but the 32nd franchise who has Tkachuk on their team loves his style of play and his ability to get underneath everyones skin.
A early on analyzation points all fingers in the direction of the Panthers losing the deal, as they are 18th overall in the NHL standings, tied with teams like the Blackhawks and Montreal Canadiens, as well as the Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders and many others ahead of them on the leaderboards- as mentioned, it is early.
Tkachuk quickly went from the Battle of Alberta between the Flames and Oilers to the Battle of Florida between the Panthers and Lightning. Outside of the rivalries Tkachuk got himself into some hot water, and has officially received discipline from the NHL player safety committee.
The play is quite hard to see, but this is the only clip from the game that has surfaced. Tkachuk purposely stuck his stick through Jonathan Quick's cage, which stirred the pot in Saturdays game against the LA Kings.
Tkachuk has been suspended two games by the NHL player safety committee.
