The Chicago Blackhawks must have known they were set up for failure as soon as the 82-game schedule was released, the Blackhawks first game of the season was in Denver Colorado against the Avalanche who hoisted last years Stanley Cup, and to top it off the game was delayed by 45 minutes due to a lengthy Stanley Cup ceremony.
The Blackhawks were quickly in trouble as the Avalanche notched five whole minutes in the Blackhawks defensive zone, before the Blackhawks could even surpass more then a minute in their offensive zone.
And then this happened... Blackhawks forward Tyler Johnson's ankles got broken by one, if not thee most skilled defensemen in the NHL, Cale Makar. Check out the clip below..
