It's been no secret that the Chicago Blackhawks' superstars have been involved in trade chatter due to them being on their final years worth of salary with the Hawks. However the team states neither Kane or Toews has submitted their trade requests *yet*.
Kane is in the final year of his current contract that pays him $10,500,000, the 34 year old is possibly the greatest player in franchise history winning 3 Stanley Cups in his career so far but is looking to win one more before he calls it quits.
It's as been released that there is three teams believed to be in a bidding war for Kane's services ,those teams are the Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, and the New York Islanders. If or when trade happens the Blackhawks will likely have to retain 50% of Kane's salary, as most contenders do not have the cap space, and if Kane were to leave Chicago, it would be for a contender if anything.
