Jagr said he was looking forward to playing hockey, as the team played HC Dynamo Pardubice on Saturday. Due to an illness that kept him out until December last year, Jagr will debut earlier this season.
As Kladno lost their opening game against HC Olomouc, Jagr has decided to lace up his skates and play Pardubice next. His shortened 2022-2023 season saw him play 26 games and score 5-14 for 19 points.
Despite losing to Liberec, Jagr recorded two assists in his debut last season.
After leaving the Calgary Flames organization in 2017-2018, he will play his seventh season with HC Kladno.
If Jagr follows through with this, he will have to wait until 2027 for his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame. During his 24 years in the NHL, he posted 1,921 points (766g, 1155a) and won two Stanley Cups.
Like Gordie Howe, who played his final NHL game for the Hartford Whalers at 52, Jagr may retire at the end of another season, should he decide to play yet another season next year.
