The Toronto Maple Leafs And Florida Panthers were both hoping to have deep runs in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Leafs would once again be first round victims while the Panthers would get knocked out in the second round both at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Speaking of knocking out Florida Panthers forward Joe Thornton and Toronto Maple Leafs super star Auston Matthews would be seen Saturday night together taking in The UFC.
The birthday boy Jumbo Joe was celebrating his 43rd birthday and would celebrate it with Matthews. The two became instant friends from the 2020-21 season that Thornton played in Toronto and was a mentor for Matthews, Marner, and others and continued that friendship ever since.
