We knew Thursday night was going to be emotional to watch but damn it was harder than anyone could expect when the fans in the United Center said farewell to one of their own, Captain Serious Jonathan Toews.
From the moment the Blackhawks drafted Toews he was welcomed with open arms and Toews has given that love back not wanting to play anywhere else then the Mad House on Madison.
Toews would do something special for the youth of Chicago before the game, Toews donated hundreds of tickets to local youth hockey players so they could attend his final tilt.
Toews also had his father in attendance and wouldn't disappoint, scoring his final goal as a member of the Blackhawks. There's no word yet if Toews will test the free agent market or retire due to his health issues but either way it's going to be sad knowing Jonathan Toews is no longer a Blackhawk.
