The NHL is becoming softer and softer each and every season in many ways, the biggest issue which seems to be causing the softness is players fighting after a clean hit.
Aside from potentially gaining momentum that was lost, attempting to fight somebody who threw a clean hit on your teammate just proves the softness of the game, and that was proved during last night's Boston Bruins vs Colorado Avalanche game.
Colorado Avalanche forward Dryden Hunt threw a clean hit on the Boston Bruins winger David Pastrnak, which lead to Bruins Tomas Nosek dropping the gloves, and let's just say it didn't end in his favour..
Is this a reasonable fight considering the hit was on David Pastrnak, or should clean hits not be resulting in fights like these?
