Danny DeKeyser has been synonymous with the Detroit Red Wings blue for the past 10 years, but declining play couple with the emergence of their young core have pushed him out, ending his decade long stint wearing the winged wheel.

DeKeyser may not be without work for long though. The Vancouver Canucks invited the veteran to camp on a professional try out earlier today.

DeKeyser, 32, skated in 59 games last season for the Red Wings, notching just 11 points all of which were assists. Injuries have plagued DeKeyser in recent years limiting his playing time

It is possible however that he cracks the Canucks lineup as the 6th or more likely 7th defence-man, however with his age, I would see him as more of a leader off the ice, than a producer on it.

I hope for his sake he can return to form. The way things ended in Detroit were not ideal by any means, hopefully he shows up at Canucks camp with something to prove.
