Honestly, there is nothing better than good surprises in sports. I love things that tie teams together, and tonight, the Sabres outdid themselves when they had current Buffalo and former Blackhawks goalie, Malcolm Subban, sing the National Anthem. Not only did he absolutely knock it out of the park, but the reactions from his teammates were beyond priceless. You could tell no one had ever heard him sing like that, before, and it was glorious.
Getting support for doing something you love means the world, especially when it might be something new and nerve-racking. Like singing the National Anthem in front of thousands and thousands of people.
Selected by Boston in the First Round of the 2012 draft, Subban has played 86 games and has a SV% of .898. This was his first season with Buffalo. Prior to that, he'd been with the Hawks for two years, and Vegas for 3.
He has been out for most of this season due to surgery for an upper-body injury, but looked (and sounded) great, tonight!
