Matthew Tkachuk's Days in Calgary Look to be Numbered
Calgary winger Matthew Tkachuk was offered an arbitration. Not to play - but for Calgary to continue to talk to his representatives.
The star winger had a 82 point season, with 42 goals and 62 assists. He was the 6th overall pick back in 2016 selected by Calgary. He was a major part in the Flame's playoff run, scoring 12 points. But, Calgary fans can expect he may be out the door soon.
A destination Matthew could go to if he decides he wants to leave is the New Jersey Devils. His uncle is the GM there, and they recently along with Philadelphia missed out on Gaudreau, so they certainly have the money to do so, with nearly 13 million in the bank.
Most fans would be excited to see Hughes and Matthew Tkachuk on the same team, and would give New Jersey a boost into seeing a Cup again sometime soon.
