Minor Hockey Game Ends in Coaches and Referees Getting Caught in The Middle of a Melee Attack
During the typical handshake line after an U18 game, a player from one side punched an opponent in the head, which started a chaotic melee. Although coaches attempted to step in and maintain peace, players from the two sides exchanged punches. Before uttering an observation, the league punished a number of coaches and players for fighting majors and unsportsmanlike behaviour.
An unfortunate incident occurred between two EFHL teams this past weekend. EFHL Officials and staff are working through referees reports provided to ensure all players who participated in the events post game receive the appropriate sanctions. This is not tolerated in the EFHL.
