NHL Reporter Lists 4 Teams Linked to Ex-Blackhawk Patrick Kane
As free agency surpasses a month, Patrick Kane's unsigned status looms large.
Awaiting his post-surgery return in November or December, several NHL teams are eyeing the accomplished forward. Arthur Staple's recent piece for The Athletic suggests potential landing spots include the Colorado Avalanche, Edmonton Oilers, hometown Buffalo Sabres, and New York Rangersthe team he briefly joined this year.
Staple underscores Kane's critical decision:
"He might choose Edmonton or Colorado, or maybe Buffalo, depending on cap space and winning prospects."
"And then Kane has to choose them. He might choose Edmonton or Colorado, or maybe Buffalo, depending on who can squeeze a modest cap hit in and which team Kane feels has the best chance to win. I have heard he really enjoyed his brief Rangers stint and would love a shot to show what he can do there when healthy, which he definitely was not in the spring." Staple said.
Despite a hip injury, Kane's recovery progress is evident through a workout video post-surgery. In 73 games, he tallied 57 points (21 goals, 36 assists), straddling the Blackhawks and Rangers.
