The former Maple Leaf and now Avalanche, Nazem Kadri opted to sign a deal at a discount, of sorts, when he signed an extension with the Calgary Flames.
Isn't it the least bit peculiar that he left money on the table, especially after winning the 2022 Stanley Cup with the Aves?
It is believed that the Islanders offered the Canadian born center, in excess of seven-and-a-half million per season, with a seven year term.
He obviously turned that down opting to sign with the Flames in Alberta. And here's why.
Kadri says the Flames center depth of Elias Lindholm, Mikael Backlund and himself can compete against any team in the league's center depth toe-to-toe.
We will soon find out, with NHL training camp inching closer and closer with each passing day in the month of August.
