This afternoon, the Habs play Chicago at 2 p.m. due to the American Thanksgiving celebrations. RDS's Patrick Friolet talked with star forward Patrick Kane about his former teammate Kirby Dach.
The American winger did not hesitate to point out his team's poor management in recent years. Here is what he had to say about Dach.
"It's tough coming into the league at 18-19 as the third overall pick. The expectations are high. When you're playing on a fourth line, you don't play as much as you should. He showed a lot of potential but was in a tough role." - Patrick Kane
"We are happy for him. He's played in difficult situations on the third and fourth lines here. Every time he's been used in offensive situations, he's had some success. I loved playing with him; he was able to create space for me" - Patrick Kane.
These statements clearly show that Kane is still frustrated with some moves the Blackhawks have made this off-season. The DeBrincat and Dach trades are still in Kane's mind, and he is having difficulty getting over them.
Chicago has taken Dach third overall in the 2019 draft. Last summer, Hawks management decided it was time to give up on Dach. Apparently, they thought Dach's severe wrist injury would prevent him from becoming a good player in the league. So far this season with Montreal, Dach has 17 points in 20 games. He is playing exceptionally well and has proven to be a good complement to Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki.
