Patrick Kane's preferred destination has been revealed
In spite of talking to a number of NHL teams recently, Patrick Kane has not signed with any new team.
Among the teams named were the Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, Buffalo Sabres, and Toronto Maple Leafs.
Kane does have a preferred destination again, as he wanted to play on Broadway last year. In 2022-2023, Showtime played 19 games with the Rangers, finishing up the season with them.
The Dallas Stars, who are currently coached by Peter DeBoer, are his preferred destination this year.
Friedman mentioned on TJMS that the Dallas Stars were Patrick Kane's preferred destination.
At the moment, the team has a little bit over $457K in salary cap space, making the move tricky.
Patrick Kane's contract demands may force the Stars to deal or waive players if they win the Patrick Kane sweepstakes.
Despite being one of the best teams in the Western Conference, the Dallas Stars were knocked out of the playoffs by the Vegas Golden Knights, before winning the the third round of the Stanley Cup playoffs and eventually the cup itself against the Florida Panthers.
The team went 47-21-14 and finished 2nd in the Central Division of the NHL in 2022-2023 with 108 points.
Can Jim Nill and the team make it work to bring Kane on board?
