This was the case a few days ago when Moscow Spartak took on Amur Khabarovsk. Spartak goaltender Alexei Krasikov came out to play the puck near the top of the circles and was absolutely run over by Amur forward Alexander Sharov. Kraviskov went unconscious immediately and medical personnel were ushered onto the ice.
I get both sides of this debate: on one hand, the goalie should've never come out that far in an attempt to play the puck, it only opens him up to injuries like we've just seen. On the other hand, should the on-rushing forward be held responsible in some way for the outcome? It's hard to change course when you're skating full tilt, Sharov makes no attempt to avoid the collision.
Whichever way you look at it, it's a scary situation.
A concussion seems likely for Krasikov, however, he didn't even go to the hospital following the hit, instead, he sat in the stands to watch the rest of the game. That though might be a little scarier than the incident itself.
