There are 32 teams in the NHL, and the Chicago Blackhawks rank 29th out of 32 on the power play. Play at the bottom of the barrel.

The Hawks' conversion rate of 11.3% is also among the lowest, and today the consequences poured down.

As of today, Kevin Korchinski was promoted to the 1st power-play unit, while Seth Jones was demoted.

A poor performance by Jones led to him being moved to the 2nd power-play unit.

Seth Jones on Kevin Korchinski moving to PP1: "Nothing has really been clicking so we've got to change it up. Kev is great puck-mover and it's just a different look for us. We want to get more shots to the net, so try to develop chemistry somewhere." #Blackhawks

During this season's NHL season, the Hawks' power play has scored only six goals on 53 opportunities. By any standard, this ratio is unacceptable.

As the power play has floundered, Jones would instead blame his teammates and take no responsibility for himself.

Kevin Korchinski has been promoted to the top power-play unit. Seth Jones is on the second unit.

@BoyleNBCS
and I discussed this possibility on the latest #Blackhawks Talk Podcast:

There's hope he turns it around on the 2nd power-play, with his former Blue Jackets teammate, Nick Foligno.

But for now, Jones needs to examine his role in the failure of the teams power-play failures and sit with it.
