The Blackhawks Make Questionable Roster Move
With the injury to Petr Mrazek, the Blackhawks were down to just Alex Stalock between the pipes.
With the obvious need for a second goalie, the Blackhawks have decided to call-up Arvid Soderblom from Rockford and have sent Alec Regula down.
This is questionable because the Hawks are looking to tank this season and get a high draft pick, but have decided to call-up their bets goalie prospect to ride the bench as the team's second goalie.
If Soderblom comes up and rotates every other game with Stalock, then this move is fine.
That doesn't seem likely, though, as Stalock has played very well to this point in the season, including last night's scoreless appearance in relief of Mrazek to help lead the team to a comeback.
It doesn't make sense to bring up Soderblom to ride the bench when he could be developing in Rockford.
So, unless Soderblom gets solid playing time, this move doesn't make sense for the organization.
