The Blackhawks Send towering bodyguards to the Prospect Showcase
Tom Kurver's Prospect Showcase is just around the corner, and the Chicago Blackhawks need to consider Connor Bedard's protection.
As the newest superstar on the team, Bedard demonstrates humility by never placing himself above others.
Here's the Blackhawks roster for this week's rookie camp in Chicago and prospect showcase over the weekend in Minnesota. Connor Bedard and Kevin Korchinski will both participate: Bedard believes he is no different from the other prospects in the Blackhawks system, so rather than rest in Chicago, he is preparing for the showcase.
For now, Bedard is the golden goose for the Hawks, so the team will be sending their own praetorians to protect him.
A towering 6'4", 210-pound Ethan Del Mastro will protect Bedard, who has been compared to Niklas Hjalmarsson.
Aside from Del Mastro, Louis Crevier stands at a towering 6'8" and 219 pounds, a pure shutdown defenseman in the same vein as Del Mastro.
The only difference is Crevier is a hell of a skater, which might be helpful if Bedard ever faces trouble on the ice.
However, Minnesota will be able to help the former 143-point forward.
