There is no doubt that Barry Trotz has success on his mind as he strives to reshape the Predators in his own image.
It has since been announced that he has signed former Rockford IceHogs goalie, Dylan Wells, to a professional tryout with the Predators.
Reliable Goalie
As a 25-year-old, Wells performed admirably during his NHL debut. He saved 12 of 13 shots in his 20 minutes of play, or a save percentage of .923. However, Wells's sample size is small since he only played for 20 minutes.
Recalled to Dallas
Afterward, he went back to Rockford and eventually found himself in Texas, where he compiled a 9-7-1 record with a .901 save percentage.
Past and Present Outlook
In April of last year, Wells was recalled to Dallas following promising performances throughout his career. He has spent the majority of his professional career in minor-league teams, including the Bakersfield Condors, Norfolk Admirals, Indy Fuel, Texas Stars, Rockford IceHogs, and Wichita Thunder, as a regular ECHL and AHL player.
Wells may have to contend with Troy Grosenick for a spot with the Predators goaltender contingent, which includes Juuse Saros, Kevin Lankinen, and Yaroslav Askarov. If Wells continues to play with the consistency he has elsewhere, his chances look good.
