This retired hockey player is facing a potential prison sentence of up to 50 years
Former NHL player Mike Ribeiro faces major legal hurdles as he faces charges that could result in him serving up to 50 years in prison if he is found guilty.
All three incidents are related to Lake Cypress Springs in June 23, 2021 and involve SA and attempting assault on three women.
As we write about this, the trial is currently taking place. On Thursday this week, he was accused of SA.
It appears that the accusers have described various scenarios regarding the assault on Ribeiro's boat, as well as two incidents involving SA on Ribeiro's jetski.
Ribeiro continues to maintain that he is innocent, and has asked for a jury trial.
He will question the motives of the accusers in the trial, and has concerns about how law enforcement is handling the case.
It won't be Ribeiro's first time facing SA charges, as he faced charges in 2015 from a nanny which resulted in a settlement.
The trial is speculated to last two weeks, at the very least.
