This week in Chicago Blackhawks history
The Chicago Blackhawks have a long and storied history as one of the original six teams in the NHL.
This week in the team's history has been marked by significant milestones, including the birth of former Stanley Cup winner and Blackhawks player Steve Larmer on June 16th.
Larmer played an impressive 891 games with the team over 13 seasons, never missing a single game.
On June 17th, 2013, the Boston Bruins took a 2-1 lead in the Stanley Cup finals over the Blackhawks, with a 2-0 win in game 3.
Marian Hossa's healthy scratch was a surprise, and Tuukka Rask played an outstanding game, stopping all 28 shots he faced.
On June 21st in 2003, the Blackhawks would draft Brent Seabrook in Nashville, 14th overall, followed by Dustin Byfuglien(245th overall) and Corey Crawford in the 2nd round. This is a notable draft where many Stanley Cup winners were built.
