Three Teams Confirmed to Have Tremendous Interest in Acquiring Patrick Kane
Patrick Kane's name and the rumour mill have long been synonomous with one another since the beginning of the NHL offseason, and with reason as �showtime' has the ability to break a game wide open.
So naturally team's will reach out, kicking at the barrel, so to speak. Kane has the prowess, the individual awardshe really has all you need in a player you'd want helping your team to a Stanley Cup berth.
Three teams have drawn tremendous interest around the idea of acquiring the Buffalo, New York., native according to Matt Porter of The Boston Globe.
«Buffalo has more than enough cap space ($19 million or so) to bring him home, where he could jockey with Alex Tuch for the title of biggest childhood Sabres fan,» said Porter of the incentives Buffalo could offer to Kane.
Porter also poked around at the possibility of a Kane to the Leafs scenario:
«Toronto can create room for some of Kane's $10.5 million cap hit, adding Kane would give the Maple Leafs their most Cup-worthy squad in decades.»
The third and final team in question, is the Detroit Red Wings, while the thought in itself seems wild, the deeper you dive in, it starts to make sense.
«If Chicago can hold its nose and send a franchise icon to Detroit, the Red Wings could move their rebuild into overdrive.»
The 33-year-old skated in 78 games during the 2021-22 NHL regular season posting 26-goals and 66-points for 92 points.
