It's been 28 years since a defenseman has reached 90 points - the last being the great Ray Bourque in the 1993-94 season with 91 points. Bourque passed the 90 point mark 3 other times in his career with the Boston Bruins; 83-84 (96), 86-87 (95), and 90-91 (94).
Roman Josi has been with the Nashville Predators since they selected him in the second round (38th overall) of the 2008 draft. The 31 year old Captain is the ninth defenseman in the history of the NHL to reach this milestone, but unfortunately the goal that gave him this record was only one of two the Preds scored that night as they fell to the Lightning, 6-2.
Still, that PPG was Josi's 10th of the season, which sets another record of the most by an NHL defenseman since former teammate Shea Weber's 12 in 2016-17, while playing for Montréal.
Tonight, Nashville hosts the number 2 team in their division, the Minnesota Wild.
