Early Tuesday, a report had surfaced suggesting that the Vegas Golden Knights would be interested in getting the band back together in net and re-acquiring Marc-Andre Fleury from the Chicago Blackhawks for their playoff push.

The story was a believable one given the success that Fleury and the Golden Knights had enjoyed together during his time there. Not to mention the fact that Fleury has already stated that he has no desire at this point to move his family out of Vegas.

I'm certain that there were a lot of excited Golden Knights fans out there who were relishing the thought of the team bringing Flower back into the fold to (hopefully) finish what they started together back in 2017.

Unfortunately, it's not a move that is expected to happen as Vegas GM Kelly McCrimmon stepped on that rumour bug before the sun even began to set.

«There is absolutely no credence to that rumor at all. I wouldn't normally speak (officially) on such things, but there will be so much racket about this, it's important to let people know that's not going to happen,» McCrimmon said on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hawks are still expected to move Fleury at some point between now and the trade deadline. The question is, now that we know that Vegas is a non-option, where will Flower end up?
