What a way to start your NHL career!
Just over 5 minutes into his first NHL game, Shane Wright gets «welcomed» to the big leagues by Blues big man, Ivan Barbashev.
The rookie took the corner hit like a champ, popping right back up, ready for action. But not before Seattle's Ryan Donato skated in to his rookie's defense.
The 18 year old stayed out of that fray, but both Donato and Barbashev received roughing minors. However, since the hit on Wright was deemed «clean», the Kraken had to head to a PK , as Donato was served a double. The Kraken killed it off, but 10 seconds later, Brayden Schenn put the Blues ahead, once again.
Ivan Barbashev led the St. Louis in hits, last season. Hopefully this one just looked worse than it felt, and no damage was done to Seattle's newest teammate.
