Coaches are always trying to find new, innovative ways to get a leg-up on their opposition, resorting to many extravagant decisions.
One that once seemed so outlandish, has gained traction recently, after a statement came out of Toronto recently. Marner playing some minutes on the Leafs blueline as a defenceman?
The scenario would see Marner deployed as a defenceman during select shifts alongside fellow assistant captain, defenceman Morgan Rielly.
Evidently the coaches new tricks and player deployment knows no bounds, on the quest to outsmart opposing coaches.
