With his 6 goals and 16 assists in 30 games for the Washington Capitals, Dylan Strome is on pace for a 60 point season, which would be a career high. He is currently tied for second most points on the team, surpassed only, of course, by Alex Ovechkin.
Similar to his start and second half of his last season in Chicago, Strome has been centering the first and second lines, and doing well. Will it last? So far, he seems to have found more support from the coaches and higher ups in DC than he did with the Blackhawks. While he was given more chances by Derek King than Jeremy Colliton by far, the 25 year old still ended up being left out for someone else to pick up.
His release is still a bit of a mystery to his teammates, who seemed to have much more confidence in him than either of his coaches, the GMs, or Dylan, himself, did.
While he admittedly misses the city, Strome has found stability and support in Washington. Chicago was unable to fit him into their unfinished puzzle of a team, but he could be the center piece the Capitals were looking for.
In regards to his return, it's going to be emotional, for sure, as he loved being a Chicagoan.
But fans love a revenge game, so tonight will definitely be one not to miss.
