What happened to the prospect who refused to shake bettmans hand?
In 2015, Colin White was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the first round, 21st overall pick.
However, during his draft, something awkward occurred. As he shook hands with the Senators' management, he greeted everyone except for Gary Bettman.
Bettman appeared to expect a handshake from White, but it never happened.
Years later, White made a name for himself in the NHL. In the 2022-2023 season, he played 68 games and was eventually added to the Florida Panthers' roster as a depth player in July 2022.
The team made it to the Stanley Cup Finals but fell short of winning the championship.
Throughout the post-season, White contributed two assists and seven shots on goal, and his performance earned him 6 PIM in 21 games.
