Blackhawks set to give top prospect 9 game trial?
Kevin Korchinski is a highly anticipated addition to the Chicago Blackhawks, having been selected in the 2022 1st round, 7th overall for his exceptional skills as a young defenseman.
Kyle Davidson recently shared that bridging the gap between the CHL and NHL proves challenging due to certain rules that prohibit CHL players from moving to the AHL until they reach a certain age.
The team was uncertain about what to do with Korchinski, but they have decided to give him a chance to shine during training camp and potentially make the team. With an impressive record of 73 points in 54 games in the WHL, Korchinski has certainly made the decision difficult for Davidson and the team.
Although the team faces a tough decision, they may opt to give Korchinski nine games this season to observe his development without using up his ELC. Regardless, the talented Korchinski may become a regular member of the club sooner than expected.
