"The Chicago Blackhawks season got underway last night as they took a bit of a beating from the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-1. Tampa came out pretty sluggish during the first 10 minutes, however the Blackhawks weren't able to take advantage and everything kind of fell apart as the Lightning took a 3-0 lead to end the first period. The Blackhawks were never able to get anything going after that. After the game head coach Jeremy Colliton said the team just didn't have much desperation after 3-0. «After 3-0, I didn't think we were good enough,» Colliton said. «We had some chances, shifts here and there where we had a little push and showed a little bit more desperation that we need to have, quite frankly, to compete against a team like that, but it wasn't sustained. We had a few breakdowns that you can't have, especially against some of their top players, you can't expect our goaltender to save the day multiple times. We know we got to get better. That's not a surprise. We knew it was going to be a big challenge. Would have liked to have a little better showing, but we know there are some things we got to work on and we'll do that.»
