It's now confirmed for free agent star Patrick Kane and the Vegas Golden Knights

Former Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane has made the news again as he has been linked to the Vegas Golden Knights As he prepares to enter unrestricted free agency on July 1st.

With the door closed to Chicago, and Detroit GM Steve Yzerman preparing for the inevitable departure, the list is getting longer on which team Kane will sign with and the Golden Knights may be near at the top of his list.

Kane is seeking a team that will give him term handsome salary while chasing another Stanley Cup as he is 35 years old. After returning from an invasive surgery to resurface his hips, many pundits and fans felt unsure if he could perform at the level he did prior to his surgery.

It was quickly realised that he could and did as he had 47 points in 50 games for the Red Wings and almost took the team to the playoffs on the last day of the year.

The Golden Knights are notorious for loading up their roster during the summer while not paying attention to the salary cap as they will deal with it after training camp begins.

With many stars on the team already it would certainly be an attractive spot for Kane to land but there are other teams that are in the mix including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, and even the Buffalo Sabres.

In the meantime, the three-time Stanley Cup winner will enjoy his summer and continue his training as he mulls over his choices on July 1st.
