"The Chicago Blackhawks continue to be hit by the injury bug this season, the latest being Calvin de Haan who was placed on injured reserve this morning. The most worrisome injury happened a couple of weeks ago. Forward Andrew Shaw was placed on long term injured reserve recently because of a concussion that happened near the end of November. It's a scary situation for the Hawks' forward who has a history with concussions. According to a report out of Montreal, Shaw's season might be over. Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports in Montreal reported recently that there is some serious concern regarding Shaw's future. Lavoie adds that the Canadiens didn't want to trade Shaw because of his huge locker room influence and style of play, but the team moved him because they were scared his next concussion could knock him out of the game permanently. Shaw suffered a handful of concussions during his time in Montreal. We really hope that Shawzer takes the proper time to make sure everything is right and he's able to enjoy some time with his new family.
