Ron MacLean may face worst-case-scenario career news shortly
Sportsnet's recent firing of Jeff Marek amidst the Draft Scandal has revealed that the network could get rid of more on-air talent soon.
This could include HNIC Host Ron MacLean, and Sportsnet whose owned by Rogers Sports and Media and is one of the largest networks in Canada. Firing Jeff Marek meant firing one of the NHL's most beloved reporters in the Game, leaving The 32 Thoughts Podcast forever changed.
Now another name is being floated, as Ron MacLean could be next on the chopping block, as fans want him gone.
"Ron Maclean must be one of the cuts or what is the point."
McLean is a part of an older generation of reporters and is unpopular with fans of the game lately. He could be let go, if Rogers Media feels like being unpredictable, however, he still has two years left on contract.
Ron MacLean should consider his own future, as nothing is guaranteed with Rogers Media.
Since he's been there since the 80's it's a possibility they could consider cutting him and only time knows the real answer.
