A Southwest Airlines Pilot was arrested and charged early Wednesday morning with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport in Georgia.

This plane was bound for Midway Airport in Chicago and was deemed delayed for multiple hours due to the airlines pilot to be under the influence.

Police reported that 52-year-old, David Paul Allsop, a pilot for the Southwest Airlines, was taken from the flight deck earlier Wednesday at the Savannah Hilton Head Airport.

Sources explained David allegedly smelled of alcohol shortly after he was scheduled for take off. The 6:05 a.m. flight was severely delayed to 10:56 a.m. as the Southwest airport was in search for a new pilot to replace David.

At roughly 7 a.m., David Allsop, a New Hampshire resident, was taken into custody by the Chatham County Sheriff's Office and charged accordingly.

ABC7 Chicago and ABC news are reaching out to local authorities for more information regarding this incident and arrest.

«We're aware of a situation involving an Employee on Flight 3772 this morning from Savannah," Southwest Airlines said in a statement. "The Employee has been removed from duty. Customers were accommodated on other flights, and we apologize for the disruption to their travel plans. There's nothing more important to Southwest than the Safety of our Employees and Customers."

Luckily all passengers and flight staff are safe, as the airline took all precautions following the passengers remarks and reports. David is now receiving punishment due to his inhumanly act.
