The Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman have a great opportunity to follow up their 2018 NHL Draft with the #3 overall pick this year. Last year the Hawks' had the #8 overall pick and the #27 overall pick and walked away with two highly coveted defensemen in Adam Boqvist and Nicolas Beaudin. This year the Hawks' are in another prime spot to land some great future talent picking at #3 overall. The first two picks of the draft are pretty much guaranteed with Jack Hughes and Kaapo Kakko, so the Hawks will really set the tone of the draft with the #3 pick. We've heard the Hawks' attached heavily to Alex Turcotte from the US Development program who grew up a Hawks' fan. However others say it will be too hard for the Hawks' to pass it up another highly touted defenseman. The Athletic's prospect expert, Corey Pronman, put together a brand new mock draft on Wednesday and that's exactly where he went. Pronman has the Hawks picking defenseman Bowen Byram from the WHL of Western Canada. Here's Pronman excerpt:"I'm pretty sure my mock will come apart at this pick because I have not been able to nail down Chicago's preference at all. I've heard from sources who say it will for sure be Byram, sources who say it will for sure be Alex Turcotte and the same for Kirby Dach."
