Chicago Blackhawks to reportedly pull off biggest off-season signing of the year

Elliotte Friedman has recently recently dropped a bombshell report stating that the Chicago Blackhawks will sign the biggest free agent that has surfaced on the market in many years.

A two-time All-Star and even a Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2018, has reportedly been linked to the Chicago Blackhawks and would make the perfect winner on Connor Bedard's top line in Chicago.

Guentzel managed to have 30 goals, 47 assists, and 77 points between the Carolina Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Penguins last season throughout 67 games, sadly, Guentzel was eliminated in the second round by the New York Rangers.

If Guentzel and his impressive point totals were on the Blackhawks last season, he would've led them in goals, assist, and points, with Connor Bedard, right behind him, second in all categories.

The Chicago Blackhawks have a whopping $35 million in cap space freed up, in general Manager Kyle Davidson has made it clear that he's ready to spend in hopes to get this organization back into the winning culture.

The athletic projects to have a value of 9.6 million on his next contract signing, with many teams looking at that and right away crossing Guentzel out due to his expensive ask, it's a gold mine for the Blackhawks.

Guentzel would make the perfect offensive winger to bolster Bedard's game as he's in the early stage of his development as an 18-year-old and the NHL.
