The NHL free agency interview period is currently underway and we've seen some interesting meetings so far. Among the meetings we were hoping to hear was the Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks pending free agent Joe Pavelski. Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reported that Pavelski was interested at the idea of playing in Chicago however we're not so sure it was that interesting after all. According to Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic, Pavelski has met with the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning and might meet with one more team which is likely the Minnesota Wild. That's unfortunate news considering that Pavelski would be a great fit on a line with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. LeBrun adds that door isn't fully closed on San Jose yet however doesn't make any mention of Chicago. It seems that dream is over.
