Cameras capture heartbreaking scene involving Edmonton Oilers Corey Perry
The Edmonton Oilers advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals, where they will take on the Florida Panthers. This involved defeating the Dallas Stars in Game 6, an emotional series.
It was primarily, a game of chances as the Dallas Stars did their best to outlast the Edmonton Oilers, but were unable to do so. The Oilers only scored twice on ten chances.
That was enough to put a stake in the heart of the Stars post-season chances, as the heartbreak was visual.
None more visual than for veteran Joe Pavelski, who was hunting a Stanley Cup in what could be his final NHL season. His heart was on his chest after the game, as Pavelski reached out to his former teammate, in Corey Perry.
There's no-telling what was said between the two-players, but the body language was indicative of something substantial being shared. Both players would shake hands, and then embrace as Perry's season continues, while Pavelski's comes to a close.
Perry during the hug would put his head down on Pavelski's shoulders, while the long hug occurred.
It was a touching moment of friendship, we often don't see it till the end of a season or end of a career.
