While Marc-Andre Fleury hopes to stay with the Minnesota Wild, there's a chance he might get trade offers before the March 8 deadline.
General manager Bill Guerin said Fleury will make the decision on his future.
"I think MA has earned the right to call the shots. It's complicated. The best thing now is to just play hockey and not complicate things. I don't know what's going to happen. I'll talk to him; it won't take long to figure it out."
Despite interest from other teams, Fleury can decide where he goes because of his no-trade clause.
Guerin respects Fleury's wishes.
In a recent interview, Fleury said he wants to stay in Minnesota.
"We have such a good group of guys and great chemistry. I've been here for over two seasons. I'm not thinking about leaving or going somewhere else. I want to continue to fight with my team to try to make the postseason."
Having been traded before, Fleury may prefer to stay with the Wild as they push for the playoffs.
The Wild are sixth in the Central division, just four points behind the St. Louis Blues, who hold the last Wild card playoff spot in the Western conference.
