In the podcast with John Lazarus and Colby Cohen, Davidson was asked about trade deadline strategy.
In his second year with the Blackhawks, Davidson has done an excellent job tearing down and rebuilding the franchise.
How does an NHL front office operate on Deadline Day?

By stockpiling draft picks and taking on bad contracts, he rebuilt the Blackhawks' prospect pool into one of the best in the NHL in 2023.
Davidson is an active trader but has been quiet this week apart from trading Anthony Beauvillier to the Nashville Predators for a 2024 5th-round pick.
Cohen asked Davidson about his current strategy for the trade deadline, and Davidson said he liked a small group of essential people.
In addition to talking through scenarios, he liked the idea of everyone being in one place, where they could get in touch with the league or look up scouting or salary cap information if needed.
Davidson runs trade deadlines with the right subject-matter experts available, not with a huge group.
