Recent departures saw Matthew Tkachuk find success with the Florida Panthers, when they acquired Jonathan Huberdeau the team didn't fare well. Later Head Coach Darrell Sutter and GM Brad Treliving would exit stage left, and the change would begin.
As Craig Conroy's reign in Calgary begins, he starts by tearing down the entire framework of the team. He has begun the start of a rebuild, which the Blackhawks are halfway through, and they could send Nazeem Kadri out of the organization.
With news of the team's new arena in 2027 arriving, the team could face dark days ahead.
That could leave an opening for the Blackhawks to improve their lineup by adding the Flame's top scorer, Nazeem Kadri. According to David Pagnotta, Kadri would be willing to lift his no-movement clause if the correct opportunity presents itself.
Conroy could use Kadri to acquire prospects and picks in return for the 75-point forward. That is, of course, he agrees to retain a portion of the forwards costly $7 M x 5 salary.
Along with salary retention, he could also bring in a 3rd team to help make the move quicker for both sides.
The next step is to field calls, and I hope the Blackhawks can have a mutual understanding of the next steps for the forward.
