Chicago Blackhawks organization signs four-fan favorites

The Chicago Blackhawks continue to be busy in the off-season as they have signed four players.

All four of them are forwards and have been signed to standard player contracts.

They have signed Andrew Bellant, Jordan Martin, Matus Spodniak, and Darby Llewellyn for the 2024-2025 season.

First off the list is forward Andrew Bellant who scored 40 points in 68 games with the Indy Fuel. He also followed it up with 2 points in 5 playoff games, with 38 PIMS and a +5 rating on ice.

Bellant has been a fan favorite since his arrival in Indy during the 2021-2022 season, on loan from the SPHL's Knoxville Ice Bears. The 5'11", 185-pound forward played at Adrian College, before turning pro. While at Adrian College he scored 65 points in 49 games.

Matius Spodniak

In 48 games with the Indy Fuel, Spodniak scored 20 points and tallied 1 assist in 2 playoff games. The former Adrian College forward joined the fuel at the end of the 2022-2023 season, where he played four games and tallied one goal.

He played two seasons at Adrian College posting 94 total points scored in 60 games. In 2022-2023, the Slovakian native led the Bulldogs with 57 points and won the NCHA Player of The Year, SCHO Player of The Year, and Sid Watson all given to the best NCAA Div III player of the year.

Darby Llewellyn

Llewellyn will join the Fuel again after playing 21 games with the Fuel, scoring 3 points and posting 21 PIMs.

The Fuel claimed Llewellyn off of waivers from the Kalamazoo Wings in March 2023, where he would play 7 games, after a 54-game stint in Kalamazoo. Before joining the Wings, he played in Norway and Sweden, scoring 48 points in 31 games across both leagues.

The Michigan native's career, spans, other hockey teams such as the Atlanta Gladiators, Tulsa Oilers, and Rapid City Rush.

Jordan Martin

Jordan Martin will also re-join the Indy Fuel, after playing 35 games with the Fuel scoring 8 points and collecting 24 PIMs.

Martin also spent 13 games in 2022-2023 with the Toledo Walleyes, and Iowa Heartlanders, where he would before his ECHL arrival, played 41 games with the Birmingham Bulls in the SPHL, scoring 14 goals and 21 points with a +20 rating.
