Meet Connor Bedard's family member who played for the Chicago Blackhawks
Bedard's Family Legacy with the Chicago Blackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks recently clinched the 1st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery, putting them in a prime position to later choose rising star Connor Bedard. What makes this story even more intriguing is that Bedard is not the first in his family to play for the Blackhawks.
Connor Bedard's great-great uncle, James Bedard, previously played 22 games over two seasons with the Black Hawks from 1949-1951.
A defenseman, James had a brief stint in his first season without scoring points but contributed two points, including a goal, in 1950-51.
It appears that the Bedard legacy will continue in the very city where it began over seven decades ago.
