Forward Zach Aston-Reese has been called up from the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.
Aston-Reese, 29, made his Red Wings debut on Dec. 11 against the Dallas Stars, leaving an impact with two hits in over six minutes of play. With the Griffins this season, he's notched 11 points (5-6-11) in 26 games. His experience with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2022-23 brings a seasoned presence, contributing 14 points (10-4-14) in 77 regular-season games.
Before his professional career, Aston-Reese showcased his skills at Northeastern University, earning accolades for his standout senior year. Hailing from Staten Island, N.Y., he brings a mix of versatility and experience to the Red Wings' forward lineup.
Patrick Kane's been thrown several curve balls since his arrival in Detroit, and it's not just the teams' two wins within the last three weeks, it is several of his team and linemates suffering injuries.
We hope Patrick Kane can avoid the injury bug spreading quickly throughout several plus Detroit Red Wings as he continues to thrive with six goals and seven assists in thirteen games for thirteen points.
