A Blackhawk gets honest if he wants to spend his career in Chicago
The Chicago Blackhawks have had great success with Alex Vlasic, in the top pairing recently.
He has taken on special teams responsibilities during the season, on the penalty kill. A shutdown defenseman in all aspects of the word.
He also has potential offensive upside, capable of moving the puck and creating offense as well.
He posted 19 points(3 G, 16 A) during the 2023-2024 season, playing 76 games on a rebuilding squad.
However, when asked about his priorities this off-season, Vlasic has stated it's his goal to stay with the Blackhawks long-term.
Vlasic's contract at the end of the season expires, as he will be a restricted free agent, with arbitration eligibility.
His current cap hit is $916K AAV for the last 3 years and is due for a new contract.
Will Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks secure part of their future in Alex Vlasic? It looks like Vlasic is ready to buy in for the long haul in Chicago.
