Chicago Blackhawks' $7.5M off-season move sparks instant regret with a 950-NHL game veteran defenseman, a former member of the Toronto Maple Leafs' core.

The Chicago Blackhawks made the biggest splash out of the entire NHL this off-season, acquiring big named players, or those who were once big named; Tyler Bertuzzi, 3x Stanley Cup Champion Pat Maroon, 1x Stanley Cup Champion goaltender Laurent Brossoit, and former Maple Leafs 950-game veteran defenseman TJ Brodie.

General manager Kyle Davidson completed all those moves just to ice and above-average team, who did not have the proper head coach to back them up.

Luke Richardson was swiftly fired from the Blackhawks this season after a rough patched-losing streak, and head coach Anders Sorensen was named as the Blackhawks' intern head coach.

It may be time for Kyle Davidson to swap out some of his failed off-season acquisitions, to create a lineup spot for prospects to bloom.

Chicago Blackhawks Confirm Sweeping Changes to the Blueline And Reveal Unexpected Healthy Scratch

It seems as if the Blackhawks are taking fan backlash into consideration as they will be scratching TJ Brodie, a 948-game NHL veteran who has soaked up 40-games this season that could've been a lineup spot for the youth to develop properly. Better late than ever, i guess?

The Blackhawks will faceoff against the Calgary Flames at home, the United Center, tonight at 6:30 p.m CT.
