Blackhawks Luke Richardson Gives An Idea Who The Team Will Draft
With the 2024 NHL Entry Draft ahead of us, there is uncertainty about, as it seems Macklin Celebrini is the only draft pick assured right now, who is likely a future San Jose Shark.
Head Coach Luke Richardson was asked about the Blackhawks goals in the next draft, and whom they would select. The Blackhawks will select 2nd overall and the consensus 2nd pick has been Ivan Demidov. But Richardson may have burst that bubble with a recent statement.
As Artyom Levshunov, is one of the top defense prospects, available Luke Richardson on the Coming In Hot Podcast mentioned what the team was looking for:
"We're looking for big rangey D that can defend and move the puck," said Richardson. "And more skill and speed up front."
With Levshunov being 6'2" and 200 LBs, it seems he is whom Richardson is referencing. But this could also reference defenseman Anton Silyaev, who is 18 years old, 6'7" and 211 Lbs. Also the London Knights Sam Dickinson could fit that description at 6'3" 195 lbs as well.
Here is what Luke Richardson had to say:
