Chicago Blackhawks Jim Cornelison takes on a surprising new job
The Chicago Blackhawks national anthem singer Jim Cornelison, will be making a special appearance today.
Today marks the date of the Indy 500, who right now is unfortunately delayed due to extreme weather in the area.
But when it clears, you should expect the Blackhawks' own National Anthem singer to perform "Back Home Again In Indiana" which he has been performing before the race since 2017.
"Back Home Again in Indiana" was composed by James F. Hanley and lyrics by Ballard McDonald, in 1917.
Prior to Cornelison performing the song, since 2017 it was Jim Nabors who performed the song, from 1972 to 2015.
The tune has been sung during pre-race ceremonies since 1946 in the Hoosier State.
Expect another fantastic balloon release from the infield tent, another ceremony dating back to 1947.
